  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 330 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1–2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • To roll, granulated sugar

Maple Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 180 grams of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk (add a tiny bit if you need more)
  • pinch of salt,

Gingerbread Cookies:

Prepare your oven by heating it to 350 degrees F

In a bowl, mix your softened butter and sugar until you obtain a creamy texture. You can use either stand mixer or an electric mixer.

Add eggs and molasses and mix again.

Add in your flour, salt, ginger, and baking soda and mix to make a dough.

Make small balls with your dough, roll in sugar and place on a baking sheet in a pan. Make sure to leave space between each ball because the cookie spreads on the sheet.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until it is almost golden.

Remove from the pan to flatten and cool.

Maple glaze:

In a bowl, whisk all ingredients until smooth.

  • Dip half of the maple cookie in the glaze.
  • Place it on wax paper.
  • Sprinkle festive sprinkles of your choice before the glaze hardens.
  • Enjoy !
