These marvelous gingerbread cookies take few minutes to prepare and to bake. I assure you that you won’t need to stay for hours in the kitchen. The ingredients used in these recipes are also inexpensive and are available in all supermarkets.

You can even find some of these ingredients at home. One of the things that are great about these cookies is that they are tender in the middle and crispy in the edges. This combination in texture create a mind-blowing balance. If you are having a big gathering, you can double the ingredients to make 48 cookies! INGREDIENTS:

Gingerbread Cookies

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, ( to room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 330 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1–2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • To roll, granulated sugar

 

 

Maple Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 180 grams of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk (add a tiny bit if you need more)
  • pinch of salt,

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Gingerbread Cookies:

Prepare your oven by heating it to 350 degrees F

In a bowl, mix your softened butter and sugar until you obtain a creamy texture. You can use either stand mixer or an electric mixer.

Add eggs and molasses and mix again.

Add in your flour, salt, ginger, and baking soda and mix to make a dough.

Make small balls with your dough, roll in sugar and place on a baking sheet in a pan. Make sure to leave space between each ball because the cookie spreads on the sheet.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until it is almost golden.

Remove from the pan to flatten and cool.

 

 

Maple glaze:

In a bowl, whisk all ingredients until smooth.

 

Decoration:

  • Dip half of the maple cookie in the glaze.
  • Place it on wax paper.
  • Sprinkle festive sprinkles of your choice before the glaze hardens.
  • Enjoy !

 

How to store?

  • You can leave them in your counter an airtight container for 5 days maximum.
  • You can also freeze these cookies in an airtight container.
