This taco lasagna recipe layered is more like a basic Mexican casserole that is loaded with taco-seasoned beef and onions, tomatoes as well as a cheese sauce, along with flour tortillas.

I have to be sincere. SHHHHHHH. It’s not really an actual lasagna. It’s actually a taco dish made with tortillas, which I call taco lasagna since it’s sort of an lasagna that’s set up for me. Does this sound logical? Most likely not. However, ….this Taco Lasagna Recipe isn’t for those looking to watch their waistline! It’s simply the most delicious comfort food recipe in the world. Don’t cry. It’s fine to cry every once at a time.
INGREDIENTS
12-13 soft flour 6-inch tortillas
2 lbs. ground beef
Two packets of taco seasoning
2 diced tomatoes
1 C diced red onions
1/2 c chopped green onions chopped
1/4 c chopped Jalapeno optional
Kosher salt, salt and pepper to taste
2 1 c heavy whipping cream
1 stick of butter
3 12 c of taco cheese Mexican style cheese, shredded
1.5 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
sour cream garnish
chopped green onions as garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
In one small bowl, mix green onions, red onions Jalapeno tomato, pepper Salt to taste. Set aside.
In a large pan fry the meat, then take out the grease. Add taco seasoning to the dish and stir.
In a medium-sized pot prepare butter and heavy cream to a simmer, stirring until it becomes thick. Remove from the heat by adding two cups of cheddar. Mix in Cajun seasoning and allow to cool.
In a 9×13 casserole Layer four tortillas (cut to fit into the bottom of the casserole) Ground beef cheese, tomato mixture. Repeat until you have 3 layers, finishing with cheese sauce over the top.
Sprinkle the the last cup of cheese to the top of the entire casserole.
Bake in a 400-degree oven with a cover for about 20 mins, then take off and cool. Serve with sour cream and onions. Speak Grace and take your time!
