Granny’s Cocoa Cream Pie

My grandmother’s Cocoa Cream Pie always makes an appearance at Christmas gatherings. It’s one of those festive seasonal treats that everyone anticipates! The bonus is that this rich cocoa cream pie is easy to prepare.

She was a part of The Great Depression, and I was a child who pleaded for stories she could share about the times. Though she believed it was hilarious for a girl of her age to want to learn about girls things and inform me of what I wanted to learn about.

Therefore, I’d delve in her basement/garage and find various treasures. I was fascinated by anything old and had a tale to tell. I do still, and that’s why I like old, simple recipes. They are full of stories and have life within them. This one was my grandmother’s and she was the one who made the most delicious pie! Simple and delicious.

Let your memories flow wild with this easy dessert that is delicious and chocoholic that’ll likely bring memories of your grandmother’s baking.

Preparation time: 15mins

Cooking time: 120 minutes

PREPARATION

STEP 1

Mix cornstarch, cocoa, eggs yolks beat, sugar and salt. Then, slowly add milk and stirring it in a pan set on medium-high temperatures.

Cook until it becomes thick and then beat it until smooth. While stirring, add the vanilla. Cream pie takes time to get thicker and thicken, so mix… then stir (10 up to fifteen minutes).

A heavy bottom pan can really help. Keep it going until it gets thicker. Pour into a pre-baked pie shell.

Place in the refrigerator to chill for a few hours prior to serving.

Make sure to add whip cream, cool whip or baked meringue to the top If you’re a fan
