Orange creamsicle cake does not require many ingredients. It is made with a box cake mix. It is very tasty. Your mouth deserves to have a bite of this savoury cake. The texture of our orange cake is very creamy, moist and light.
This refreshing dessert is made in few minutes only. Nevertheless, you need to refrigerate for at least 4 hours until the icing is firm enough. The icing on top is smooth and creamy. This cake is perfect for a summer day. You can prepare it for a gathering or a pool party. It is very refreshing to have with your favourite beverage.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 box white cake mix
- eggs,
- oil
- water
- 3 ounce box orange gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cups orange sherbet divided
- 3.4 ounce box instant vanilla pudding mix
- ¼ cup milk
- 8 ounce tub whipped topping
- To garnish, mandarin oranges
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Combine the cake mix with eggs and oil as instructed in the cake box.
- Grease your 9×13 baking pan.
- Bake the cake according to the package instructions.
- Remove the cake from the oven.
- Make holes in the cake.
- Boil one cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix in the orange gelatin until dissolved. Melt in one cup of the orange sherbet.
- Pour the dissolved liquid on top of the cake to fill in the holes.
- Place the cake in the fridge for a maximum of 4 hours.
- Melt the rest of orange sherbet in a large mixing bowl. Whisk the milk and the pudding mix.
- Allow this mixture to set for few minutes to make the pudding thick.
- Well-combine the whipped topping. Spread it over the cooled cake.
- Decorate with mandarin oranges if you like. Enjoy!
Notes:
- You can try other flavours; like strawberries, raspberries and creamy lemonade.
- You can make this a gluten free cake by simply using a gluten free cake mix.
- This cake needs to be refrigerated.
