INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds of ground pork
1 yellow onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon samaseed oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 (16 oz.) bag of coleslaw mix, containing carrots
Two green onions cut in a diagonal fashion
One teaspoon of the red pepper Flakes
Salt Kosher and fresh ground pepper to your taste
Rice cooked, garnish, or not, is an option.
Within a bowl mix together hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Set aside .
In a large pot or skillet set over moderate heat, fry the ground pork until it’s browned .
Drain fat, if necessary .
Sprinkle with salt as well as pepper, ginger, and red pepper flakes then add sesame oil. Add the garlic and onion and cook for 6-8 minutes or until the onion softens .
Mix in hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Add the coleslaw as well as the carrots. Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the cabbage has softened.
Adjust the seasoning should you need to, and then take it off the heat .
Serve hot rice with garnish with green onions chopped .
