Easy Taco Bake Recipe

Advertisements

This Easy Taco Bake is a pasta dish that tastes like a taco! It can easily be prepared in advance and freezes very well.

People always assume that I am this fantastic gourmet chef and always have been. The truth is that I was a terrible cook. Eating, yes, I was always good at it. But real cooking – not so much.

It’s like people think that because you have a lot of children, you are a wonderful parent. Unfortunately, that’s not true either. But with practice comes experience, and just like knowing when your butter is browned, not burned, you also learn to predict the triggers of a two-year-old’s temper tantrums.

I like this Easy Taco Bake for its simplicity and homemade taste. My kids loved the taco batter, so I knew this version would be a welcome addition. Many meals can be too difficult and complicated and this one will be a family must-have, I promise. And it freezes very well!

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1 packet of taco seasoning
? Cup of water
Chili Cheese Corn Chips – to enjoy
1 can of cheddar cheese soup
½ Cup of milk
8 to 12 oz. grated mozzarella cheese
Choice of trimmings

How to do it :

Brown ground beef and prepare it as a taco according to the seasoning provided (using water).
Pour enough fritos into a 9 x 9 pan to cover the bottom.
Cover with taco meat.
Mix the soup and milk in a saucepan and heat until smooth.
Cover taco meat with cheese sauce.
Cover with cheese (8 oz. to 12 oz. depending on the degree of cheese desired).
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until sauce is bubbling.
Serve over lettuce and with desired topics.
