When those cool fall nights roll around, there’s nothing that says comfort food like a warm, fruity cobbler. Well get ready because this caramel apple cobbler is about to become your new favorite fall dessert!
To make this easy cobbler, you’ll need:
Filling:
- 6 cups peeled, chopped apples (I like Honeycrisp or Gala)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for topping
- 1/4 cup white sugar
Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick chilled butter, diced
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
How:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Toss the chopped apples with lemon juice, caramel sauce and sugar. Pour into a greased 8×8” baking dish.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, oats and brown sugar. Cut in the chilled butter until pea-sized crumbs form. Sprinkle this evenly over the apples.
Bake for 35-40 minutes until topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
Let cool just slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream and extra caramel sauce. Yum!
The sweet caramel and tender apples topped with that lightly crisp oat streusel is so comforting. This cobbler is easy enough for a weeknight but delicious enough for guests too. Trust me, this will fast become your go-to fall dessert!
