This Banana Pudding Poke Cake starts with a base of yellow cake, baked until it’s light and fluffy. After it cools, we poke holes all over the cake to allow our creamy banana pudding mixture to seep inside, infusing the cake with rich banana flavor in every bite. Then we frost the top with a layer of whipped topping and a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers for a little bit of crunch. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the classic flavor of banana pudding in a whole new way.

Ingredients:

1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box: typically water, vegetable oil, and eggs)
2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant banana pudding
4 cups milk
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
20 vanilla wafers, crushed

Instructions:

Prepare and bake the yellow cake mix according to package instructions in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Once the cake is done and slightly cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using the back of a wooden spoon.

In a large bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and milk. Before the pudding sets, pour it over the cake, making sure to fill the holes.

Spread the whipped topping over the top of the pudding layer. Sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers over the top.

Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or until the pudding is set and the cake is thoroughly chilled.

Slice and serve cold.

Our Banana Pudding Poke Cake is a delightful dessert that offers a unique twist on a beloved classic. It’s perfect for potlucks, family gatherings, or simply as a sweet treat to end a weeknight dinner. Enjoy!
