Pecan Pie Cobbler

Ready to create a dessert that’s destined to impress? Our Pecan Pie Cobbler combines the deep, caramelized flavor of a traditional pecan pie with the fluffy, golden topping of a beloved Southern cobbler. The result is an irresistible sweet treat that’s perfect for the holidays or anytime you want to make your day a bit more special.

Recipe Story:

Hailing from the South, the Pecan Pie Cobbler is a delightful fusion of two iconic American desserts. Pecan pie, with its rich filling and crunchy nut topping, is a staple of Southern baking and a favorite at Thanksgiving tables. Meanwhile, cobblers, with their fruit-filled bottoms and biscuit-like toppings, are a warm and homey dessert enjoyed year-round. By marrying these two classics, we’ve created a dessert that’s truly the best of both worlds.

Creating this Pecan Pie Cobbler is a labor of love that’s well worth the effort. We start with a simple pecan pie filling, featuring brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and eggs for a rich, custard-like base. We stir in a generous amount of pecans, adding a delightful crunch that contrasts beautifully with the creamy filling.

For the cobbler topping, we turn to a basic biscuit dough. This dough is dropped by spoonfuls onto the pecan filling, creating a cobblestone effect that gives the cobbler its name. As the cobbler bakes, the topping turns golden and crisp, while the pecan filling bubbles and caramelizes.

Ingredients:

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups chopped pecans
2 cups self-rising flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups whole milk
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Additional pecan halves for topping

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, 1/2 cup melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans. Mix until well combined. Pour this mixture into the prepared baking dish.

In a large bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour and granulated sugar. Stir in the milk and 1 cup melted butter until combined. Spoon this batter over the pecan mixture in the baking dish.

Arrange pecan halves on top of the batter for an attractive finish.

Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra indulgent treat.

Our Pecan Pie Cobbler is a dream come true for dessert lovers, uniting two beloved recipes into one delectable dish. Serve this up at your next gathering, and your guests are sure to be asking for seconds – and the recipe! Happy baking!

Please remember to adjust cooking times and temperatures based on your specific oven and the products you use. Enjoy!

  1. Except for at the end I don’t see any instructions regarding chopping any pecans or the quantities for them.
Are some of the pecan halves to be chopped or are they a separate measurement?
