INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds brussels sprouts
Six slices of bacon (I employed applewood)
1 cup of white onions chopped
3 cloves of garlic chopped
salt and pepper as desired
INSTRUCTIONS
Utilizing a sharp knife, cut off the stem at the ends of the spouts for brussels. Then, carefully cut them as thin as is possible.
Cook a skillet over medium temperature. Cut the bacon into pieces and cook until crisp. Utilizing tongs or a spoon, transfer the bacon the bacon to a towel, leaving the bacon grease to rest.
Add the onions to the bacon grease and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then add the garlic and brussels sprouts Mix in the bacon grease and simmer for about 3-4 mins. Add salt and pepper according to your preference.
Serve warm!
NOTES
1. Shaved brussels sprouts – You can do this by hand using a mandolin , or a food processor.
2. Cut bacon in bite-sized chunks prior to frying.
3. Include pine nuts for an added crunchy taste.
