Ingredients : Grilled Cheeseburger Wraps

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons ketchup, plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Mustard
  • Lettuce, shredded or whole leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large non-stick skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, minced onion, salt, and pepper, and combine thoroughly. Reduce heat to low and allow the mixture to heat through for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas: Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheddar cheese down the center of each tortilla.
  3. Add the Beef: Evenly distribute the beef mixture among the tortillas, placing it over the cheese.
  4. Add Condiments and Tomatoes: Drizzle a little mustard (and extra ketchup if desired) over the beef. Top with a couple of slices of tomato.
  5. Grill the Wraps: Preheat your grill (indoor or outdoor) and place the wraps, two at a time, on the grill. Grill for 3 to 5 minutes, or until you achieve desirable grill marks and the tortillas are golden-brown.
  6. Add Fresh Veggies: Carefully remove the wraps from the grill and gently open each one to add lettuce and sliced red onion. Re-roll the wraps burrito-style.
  7. Serve: Cut each wrap diagonally in the center and serve immediately.

Serving Suggestions

These Hamburger Wraps are best enjoyed hot off the grill. Serve them with a side of crispy potato chips, a light coleslaw, or even a fresh garden salad to keep things on the lighter side. For an extra touch, consider a creamy garlic aioli or a spicy chipotle sauce for dipping.

FAQs

Can I use a different type of meat? Absolutely! While ground beef is traditional, ground turkey or chicken are great leaner alternatives. Even a meat-free substitute works wonderfully for a vegetarian version.

How can I make this gluten-free? Easily substitute the flour tortillas for your favorite gluten-free tortillas. Just make sure they are large enough to hold all the yummy fillings.

What if I don’t have a grill? No grill? No problem. You can cook the wraps in a grill pan over the stove or even a regular skillet to get a nice sear.

Can I add other toppings? Of course! Feel free to add any of your favorite burger toppings. Pickles, sautéed mushrooms, and even a slice of avocado would make great additions.
