This is a yummy and rich breakfast for you and your family. It is very rich in protein which makes it very healthy. The combination between sausages, eggs and cheese is what all people look for in a breakfast. The texture of the dough is very flaky and crispy. The filling is creamy and cheesy.

These crescent roll ups are easy to make. You can have these rolls ups with your loved ones in a full breakfast setting or you can have them on the go. These roll ups are not dry, but you can have them with your favourite beverage in the morning; either tea, juice or coffee. You can also have these roll ups on a special gathering. People are going to absolutely love them. In less than an hour, you will have your breakfast ready.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 breakfast sausage links
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 eggs whisked, (Keep 1 tablespoon)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced fresh chives ,
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1-1/2 cups cheese (pepper jack and cheddar)
  • Optional: Parmesan cheese,

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. (180 degrees Celsius)
  2. Place a skillet over medium heat and cook the sausages for a maximum of 12 minutes. Place them on a paper towel to remove any fat.
  3. Whisk the eggs and a teaspoon of milk together until combined in a small bowl.
  4. Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet. Add in whisked eggs and stir. Sprinkle salt, pepper and chives. Then, remove from the heat.
  5. On a baking sheet, lay each crescent roll out. Add a sausage link, a tbsp. of the scrambled egg and an amount of cheese. Roll it up and keep it on the baking sheet.
  6. With the remaining whisked egg, brush the top of every crescent. Sprinkle some Parmesan on to if desired.
  7. Place them in the oven for a maximum of 20 minutes until they become golden-brown.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

 

Notes:

  • These roll ups are similar to croissant rolls.
  • You can make these roll ups ahead of time, one night before.
  • You can freeze these crescent roll-ups in ziplock freezer bag for a maximum of 2 months.
  • You can keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for a maximum of 3 days.
  • Instead of sausages, you can use cooked bacon or ham.
  • You can choose any combination of cheese that you like instead of pepper jack and cheddar.
  • You can also add mushrooms and fresh spinach to the mixture.
