This recipe is one of the most popular Italian dishes. It goes back to the twentieth century. Because of its popularity in this period of time, it is very quick and easy to make. You don’t need to keep watching it to cook because it is cooked in an oven and the sauce only takes 10 minutes to make. In addition to this, Chicken Caprese is very rich in nutrients .
It can be taken as an entrée or as a main meal. If the case is the latter, you can take it with pasta or rice. If you are going out or traveling and you would like to enjoy this dish, you can make it into a sandwich. Another way of having it is by topping your salad with this recipe. For your kids, you can serve it with mashed potatoes or French fries.
Chicken Caprese is far from being bland. It is very creamy. The blend between the sour-y cream and chicken is superb. This flavor makes it very fresh which is perfect for a hot day in summer.
Ingredients :
6 Chicken Breasts
8 oz. of Fresh Mozzarella cheese
Salt and Pepper
Herbs de Provence
2-3 Large tomatoes (plum or beefsteak tomatoes are the best option)
1 c. of Balsamic vinegar
¼ c. Brown sugar
Method :
Start by heating your oven 365 degrees Fahrenheit.
Put your pieces of chicken in a baking sheet and place it in the oven to cook for 15 minutes.
While the chicken is cooking, take a small pot and poor the balsamic vinegar on medium heat and bring to boil.
Once it boils, add brown sugar and lower the heat. Leave it for 10 minutes until it bubbles and turn off the stove.
When your chicken is cooked, place the slices of mozzarella cheese on top of each chicken piece.
Drizzle some salt, pepper and the herbs de Provence.
Place back the pan to the oven so that you can let the cheese to melt. This will take about 1 to 2 minutes.
Top each slice of chicken breast with a slice of tomato and pour some of the sauce on top.
