Cinnamon French Toast Bubble Up

Cinnamon French Toast is very easy to make. It needs few ingredients and it is very delicious. This dish is prepared in few minutes and it is best served on the same day. It is cut into 12 pieces which makes it a great family recipe. This French Toast is very sweet and its texture is soft. I highly recommend all of you to try it. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 (7.5 ounces) packs of buttermilk biscuits.
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 heaping tsp cinnamon
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/3 cup 1% milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

 

FOR THE ICING

  • 1/3 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prepare the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease your 9×13 dish by spraying it with cooking spray.
  3. Cut each biscuit into 6 small pieces each. This will give you 120 pieces of dough.
  4. In a large bag, mix that 1 tbsp of sugar with a teaspoon of cinnamon. Toss in the pieces of biscuits dough and shake to cover all the pieces with sugar and cinnamon. Make sure not to allow the pieces to stick together while you are shaking.
  5. Spread evenly the covered dough pieces in the prepared dish.
  6. Whisk the eggs and milk together in a bowl.. Add in vanilla and cinnamon and stir well.
  7. Pour the mixture into the spread biscuits dough pieces in the dish.
  8. Place the baking dish in the oven to bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Once you remove the dish from the oven, start preparing your icing.
  10. In a bowl, mix confectioners’ sugar with milk and vanilla.
  11. Pour the icing over the Cinnamon French Toast while it is warm a little bit.
  12. Allow the icing to set and cut into 12 pieces.
  13. Serve and enjoy!

 

Notes:

  • For buttermilk biscuits, you can use Great Value brand or Wegman’s.
  • This Cinnamon French toast is best ate on the day it was made. However, you can keep in the fridge in an airtight container for a day or 2.
  • This recipe can be frozen. When you are ready to have it, just allow it to thaw and reheat it in the microwave, oven or toaster oven.
